Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Ahmed Karti said on Tuesday that Sudan is studying renewing the so-called "Golden Triangle" partnership between Sudan, Egypt and Libya.
Karti made the comments on the sidelines of the Arab League of Nations Summit in Doha, Qatar, adding that the idea had been raised some time ago, but that Sudan was waiting for the situation in Libya to stabilize.
"Now that the situation has become stable, we contacted the new Libyan foreign minister who welcomed the idea," Karti said. He added Sudanese officials met with the Libyan foreign minister to discuss the issue in more depth Monday
