The Supply Ministry has announced that the start of the summer sale for all goods will begin on Monday and will last one month.
The ministry is expecting more than 3,000 public and private companies to reduce prices by 5 to 50 percent in order to encourage shopping.
In a statement on Sunday, the ministry said that each company should obtain a permit for the sale and has the right to determine its own discounts, provided they are real and that the original prices are displayed. The companies are also required to make sure the goods are up to standard and that their source is known.
The ministry announced that the hotline 19280 has been set up to receive complaints from consumers, in addition to the already established consumer protection hotline 19588.
