The Syrian army announced the start of a counterattack in several areas to regain control after armed rebel factions launched attacks on several Syrian cities, including Aleppo and Idlib.
The Syrian army said in a statement: “The armed terrorist organizations are still continuing, through all their platforms, to broadcast false news in the context of a coordinated media war aimed at influencing the morale of our people and our valiant army.”
“These fake news exploit the recent field events that took place in the city of Aleppo, and the focus of some international and Arab media outlets on transmitting all news regardless of its accuracy.”
The statement added that: “These organizations have worked to broadcast a huge amount of fake news and rumors that targets some Syrian cities.”
It called on the people not to pay attention to these claims or believe the news from these “false platforms”.
The statement continued: “Our valiant army was and will remain a strong and steadfast presence to perform its duty in defending the homeland and citizens, against all forms of terrorism and its supporters.”
“The process of confronting the terrorist attack is proceeding with full success and determination, and we will move to the counterattack to restore all areas and liberate them from the filth of terrorism,” it concluded.
