Informed sources at the Interior Ministry say that Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, president of the military council, has met with Interior Minister Mansour Essawy and all his aides to discuss measures to secure upcoming parliamentary elections.
They also discussed the enactment of the Emergency Law, and how to restore security in Sinai and the rest of the country.
Essawy briefed Tantawi of the ministry’s plan to secure polling stations from outside the buildings without interfering in the balloting process.
