Sohag Governor Ayman Abdel Moneim decided on Sunday to suspend an elementary school teacher for one month for beating a third grader.
The education department in Sohag was notified that a teacher used shoes to beat a student inside the classroom because he was doing poorly in class.
Abdel Aziz Atteya, the deputy education minister in Sohag, said the issue has been referred to the legal affairs department for investigation.
