The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced on Sunday that temperatures will begin to drop with possible thunderstorms far south of the country for 72 hours starting from Tuesday.
The current heat wave will end on Friday, the EMA added, with temperatures dropping by up to three degrees Celsius.
Weather maps show intermittent wind activity stirring sand and dust in the south of the country.
The country is expected to witness a noticeable rise in temperatures on Monday, with maximum temperatures in Cairo reaching 39C.
The weather will be very hot during the day and moderately hot and humid at night over most of the country, with moderate temperatures on the northern coasts.

- Alexandria: 34C
- Cairo: 38C
- Hurghada: 42C
- Sharm el-Sheikh: 41C
- Luxor: 43C
- Aswan: 45C
