The Ministry of Civil Aviation has responded to allegations made by a foreign blogger, who sharply criticized his experience at Cairo International Airport, describing it as ‘the worst ever’.
The ministry has ordered an investigation into the details of the incident and to expose the falsehoods contained in the article that was circulated by some media outlets, affirming its commitment to transparency in presenting the facts.
The ministry stated, “The passenger arrived at Terminal 2 of Cairo International Airport on a flight from Rome on November 10, and completed the arrival procedures within 18 minutes, which is a record time compared to international airports. He then spent a few hours at the airport hotel before returning later in the day to the airport to continue his journey to Addis Ababa. During the security screening, the process took one minute, while the waiting time to complete travel procedures did not exceed 8 minutes.”
The ministry confirmed that the blogger had access to the ‘Lounge E’ and ‘Lounge G’ lounges and received excellent services.
The ministry questioned the accuracy of his description of the atmosphere as chaotic given this short period of time, and stated that all the blogger’s allegations about requests for ‘tips’ were unfounded.
