The organizers behind the “Red Sea Mountain Trail” for walking and mountaineering have announced increasing number of participants for its desert tours during the months of July and August.
Walking trips in the Red Sea trail extend for about 170 kilometers across 10 days and include a number of famous mountains and valleys with rugged mountain peaks, such as Jabal Shayeb al-Banat.
At the bottom of the mountains’ valleys are emerald green pools created from the remnants of rain and torrential waters.
The tours even extend to wells and Roman temples.
They ensure the continuation of further job opportunities for the Bedouin communities in some areas of the desert that the trail passes through.
The Bedouins provide all services from transportation and subsistence.
The tours and the expansion of trips will contribute to the revival of tourism, which is vital to supporting the local population of Bedouins in the region.
The “Red Sea Mountain Trail” project prepared its first Arabic virtual map, where the areas to be visited and included in the trail were placed on the virtual map with their original Bedouin names.
The Time magazine has considered the Red Sea Mountain Trail project to be one of the most important tourist attractions in the world for the year 2019. It is the largest tourism project for practicing tourism and hiking in scenic beauty, placing Egypt on the map for those who wish to enjoy natural scenery.
