Tens of thousands of Egyptians held the largest demonstration of Egypt’s with the Palestinian people in front of Rafah border crossing on Friday, expressing their rejection of any plans for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people.
The demonstrators also stressed that Egypt will not allow for any plans that threaten the stability of the region or squander the rights of the Palestinian people.
Protesters expressed their support for Egypt’s policies and the political leadership in its positions supporting the Palestinian cause, and calling for finding a permanent solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The participants, who represent different political parties and forces and participants from various governorates of the country, raised the flags of Egypt and Palestine, carrying banners in support of the Palestinian people and their rights.
They stressed that Egypt’s borders are a red line, and that the Egyptian people are united behind President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in every measure he takes to preserve both Egypt’s national security and the Palestinian cause.
The protesters see the plan to displace Palestinians as a flagrant violation of international law and a direct threat to the stability of the entire region.
They also proclaimed that as President Sisi confirmed, the people of Egypt will not participate in any injustice practiced against the people of Palestine.
They further announced their rejection of any pressure exerted on Egypt to pass the displacement plan, stressing that all of Egypt stands behind President Sisi in rejecting the displacement and everything that threatens the stability of the Middle East region.
