On Thursday evening, a train heading from Cairo to Mansoura in Daqahliya hit a car, killing three people, Egypt’s Railway Authority announced in a statement.
The accident occurred between Burqin and Sinbillawain on the Cairo/Mansoura line, as a car suddenly crossed the tracks and was hit by the train.
The car was removed from the scene, and then the trains resumed operation half an hour later at 6:45 pm.
In its statement, the authority appealed to all to be careful and abide by traffic rules and not to cross the tracks unless they are clearly marked.
