Tomb of ancient Egyptian 18th dynasty senior state official discovered

Minister of Antiquities Mohamed Ibrahim announced Tuesday the discovery of a tomb containing an ancient, senior Egyptian statesman from the 18th dynasty named Maai.
 
The tomb was discovered by a joint Spanish-Italian mission in Qurna, west of Luxor.
 
The mission also found a stele made ​​of pottery on which the high titles of the statesman were listed, including “The Distinguished to the Minister,” “The Hereditary Prince,” “The Mayor,” “The Keeper of the Good God’s Secret,” “Supervisor of the Strong Cattle,” “Supervisor of the Fields” and “Supervisor of the King’s Horses.” 
 
The outer part of the tomb bears inscriptions detailing the life of the statesman and the luxury he enjoyed.
