The Egyptian National Railways has announced an increase in ticket prices for several train services, effective from Thursday.
Ticket price increases:
- First-class Talgo tickets on the Cairo-Alexandria line have increased by 50 Egyptian pounds, from 225 to 275.
- Second-class Talgo tickets on the Cairo-Alexandria line have increased by 25 Egyptian pounds, from 150 to 175.
- First and second-class tickets for Spanish Talgo trains on the Upper Egypt line remain unchanged.
- First-class tickets for Spanish, French, VIP, Russian air-conditioned, and Russian ventilated trains of all types have seen a 12.5 percent increase, rounded up to the nearest five Egyptian pounds.
- Second-class tickets for Spanish, French, VIP, Russian air-conditioned, and Russian ventilated trains of all types have seen a 12.5 percent increase, rounded up to the nearest five Egyptian pounds.
- Commuter and ‘Tahya Masr’ trains have seen a 25 percent increase, rounded up to the nearest five Egyptian pounds.
