The “Travel off Path” website, which specializes in tourism and travel, published a photo report covering the biggest reasons that attract tourists to Egypt in 2023, saying this year is expected to achieve record tourist numbers.
Egypt received more than seven million tourists during the first half of this year and is expected to reach 15 million by the end of the year – a significant increase from 2022.
The website explained that the country is famous for many factors that attract tourists, including vibrant tourist cities, ancient monuments and picturesque landscapes, in addition to reasonable prices.
The report explained that tourists can use their credit cards in Egypt, as the use of credit cards has become more common at hotels, restaurants and tourist areas.
Egypt recently introduced a multiple-entry visa valid for five years, which makes it easier tourists more than ever, the websites added.
It explained that the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities was implementing a non-cash payment system using bank cards to purchase entry tickets to a number of archaeological sites, including the Pyramids of Giza, the Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan, and the Citadel of Saladin in Cairo.
The report also referred to Nile cruises, pointing out that after 2022’s “Death on the Nile” movie the number of tourists eager to sail in the Nile River – the longest river in Africa – increased.
The Grand Egyptian Museum, scheduled to open soon, will become the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to one civilization, the website noted. It will host many artifacts, including the complete collection of treasures of King Tutankhamun, and is located about two kilometers from the famous Giza pyramids.
Egypt is a safe tourist destination and famous tourist cities such as Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh can be visited and enjoyed by all tourists thanks to their diverse and unique components, the report added.
And new airlines are launching flights to Egypt, the website said, which has made traveling to Egypt easier than ever before thanks to the new routes that were announced.
