Twenty-three Egyptians deported from Italy arrived in Cairo Airport on Thursday after they were arrested off Italian coasts.
The deportees arrived, accompanied by a number of security personnel on an EgyptAir plane. They confessed to attempting to infiltrate Italian territory by a boat but were arrested by Italian coastal guard.
Head of Cairo Airport security Major General Tarek Fathy ordered a background check of the deportees.
