US police have identified the two Saudi sisters whose bodies were found washed up along the Hudson River in New York on Wednesday.
According to the US newspaper Washington Post, the bodies of 16-year-old Tala Farea and the 22-year-old Rotana Farea were bound together with duct-tap at the feet and waist.
The Saudi consulate stated that it is “following up on the details of the accident of the two Saudi females found in Hudson River.”
The US authorities reported that Tala had been listed among the missing children of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) since August 24.
The two sisters might have leaped from the George Washington Bridge and their bodies washed up in the river off Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
Australia’s ABC television mentioned that the case’s investigators believe that the two sisters committed suicide.
