Two university students were injured Thursday in clashes in Shebein al-Koam, Menufiya, while another was arrested.
Amr Essam, 19, a student at the Faculty of Commerce, and Raghda Hakim, 20, a student at the Faculty of Arts were injured during clashes on campus between students. Another student at the Faculty of Arts was arrested by the police.
Egyptian university campuses have become increasingly tense since the overthrow of Islamist President Mohamed Morsy in July. Authorities have handed tough sentences to students charged with rioting and inciting violence on campus.
