A locomotive collided with train #15 heading from Cairo to Alexandria at the village of Arab Raml, in Quesna Center, Menoufia Governorate, with no casualties.
Panicked passengers rushed to both sides of the platform.
The Masrawy news website reported an official source as saying that the locomotive driver fainted and lost control, causing it to mistakenly cross the barrier and the traffic light and collide with the other train from behind.
Specialists succeeded in controlling the locomotive, and the Cairo-Alexandria train wasn’t affected by any damage the passengers returned to it again and proceeded on its journey on its specified route.
The locomotive driver received first aid at Quesna General Hospital.
The Egyptian National Railways and security leaders moved to the site of the accident, where it was decided to transport the locomotive to Quesna train station for inspection and to submit a technical report on its condition.
