Up to 88 Palestinians killed, 208 injured in five new massacres at the Gaza Strip

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Sunday that the Israeli army has committed five massacres within 24 hours, resulting in 88 dead and 208 wounded arriving at hospitals.

Palestinian media reported that Israel has carried out extensive bombing operations of homes in central and northern Gaza.

The number of victims of Israel’s aggression since October 7, 2023 has risen to 45,805 killed and 109,064 wounded.

 

Destroying Hamas at all costs

Haaretz reported that a relative of one of the Israeli detainees in Gaza cited a senior official in the negotiating team as saying that returning the detainees is not a priority for the government, which is more interesting in destroying Hamas over recovering them.

The official stated that they army does not know the location of all the detainees, adding that the army is trying to reduce the possibility of prisoners being injured during attacks on the Strip.

The official noted that despite the destruction of most of Hamas’s infrastructure in Gaza, the organization will not disappear immediately and therefore the battle against it must continue.

A relative of the detainee confirmed that the official’s statements raise concerns about the government’s priorities, and the official responded that his concerns were justified.

 

Israel’s assault marches on

On the ground, the Israeli army continued its incursion into central Gaza Strip, where it carried out extensive bulldozing of agricultural land and blown up residential blocks around landfill east of the city of Deir al-Balah, according to eyewitnesses.

Palestinian media reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Israeli military vehicles which penetrated Deir al-Balah fired sporadically in the eastern areas of the city.

According to the media, the Israeli army also carried out extensive bombing operations on homes in the Saftawi neighborhood, while tanks fired shells at homes in the neighborhood located northwest of Gaza City.

Media outlets reported that the Israeli forces fired flares over the Al-Ahli Arab Baptist hospital and its surroundings in Gaza City, causing panic among medical staff and patients, especially children and women.

The Israeli army announced that it had bombed more than 100 targets in different parts of Gaza Strip in two days, and claimed that it had eliminated dozens of Hamas fighters on Friday and Saturday.
