Video: Documentary “My Faith in Sport” explores how religion guides athletes such as Omar Marmoush

TOD studios and beIN SPORTS are set to broadcast a four-episode documentary series titled “My Faith in Sport” on March 31.

The trailer showcased a range of topics the series will address, including prayer, fasting, and reflection.

The docuseries explores the role faith play in shaping the careers of seven Muslim athletes from different parts of the world, and how faith has helped them both on and off the field.

It follows acclaimed stars such as:

  1. Omar Marmoush, player for the Egyptian national football team and Manchester City.
  2. Sofyan Amrabat, Moroccan national football team player and former Manchester United player.
  3. Ali Al-Hamadi, the first Iraqi player in the English Premier League and striker for Ipswich Town.
  4. Nadia Nadim, Danish football star, AC Milan player, and former Afghan refugee.
  5. Fares Ibrahim, Qatari weightlifting champion and Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medalist.
  6. Adam Azeem, British lightweight boxing world champion.
  7. Zainab Alema, Leicester Tigers rugby player and the first hijab-wearing athlete seeking to join the England rugby team.

The documentary will have subtitles available in Arabic and English.
