Video: ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ dominates Egypt’s foreign box office in first week

The hyper-realistic animated Disney film “Mufasa: The Lion King” topped the foreign box office in Egypt during its first week of release, earning nearly LE 4.444 million.

It grossed LE571,000 on Tuesday alone.

The plot delves into the past, exploring the story of Mufasa as a lost cub and his relationship with the lion Taka, the heir to a royal bloodline.

A chance encounter launches the misfits on a grand quest for their destiny.

The film’s cast comprises a plethora of stars who provide voice-over performances for the characters, including Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Kani, Mads Mikkelsen, Thandiwe Newton, Blue Ivy Carter, Keith David, Donald Glover, and Nikky Amuka-Bird.

The film is directed by Barry Jenkins and written by Jonathan Roberts and Erin Magee.
