American actor Andrew Garfield, famous for playing the superhero Spider-Man, announced his support for Palestine and called on his audience to direct their support and energy to the people of Gaza.
During his hosting on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Garfield said that “Of all the people in the world, I don’t need anything, I’m very happy, but we must direct our energy towards something really important, like the lives of Palestinians in Gaza.”
Anyone who is suffering or oppressed should receive attention and support, he said, adding that the suffering of the Palestinians is where energies should be directed now.
Garfield also signed a letter addressed to US President Joe Biden, along with some actors including Joaquin Phoenix and Kristen Stewart, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza after the war that began on October 7, 2023.
