The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts very cold weather in the early morning and at night on Monday.
The weather will be warmer during the day across most of the country, with a chance of frost on crops in Upper Egypt, central Sinai, and the Western Desert.
Monday’s weather maps warned of fog formation on some roads leading to and from northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai.
The fog may reduce horizontal visibility in areas along the northern coast and Lower Egypt.
The EMA called for caution and vigilance on roads, maintaining safe distances between vehicles, and partially opening car windows to prevent fog formation.
Light to moderate rain is expected in parts of the northern coast, northern Lower Egypt, and as far south as Halayeb and Shalateen.
Low clouds will also appear over parts of Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, and central Sinai.
Expected temperatures for Monday:
- Matrouh: 18C
- Cairo and Alexandria: 19C
- Hurghada: 24C
- Sharm El-Sheikh, Luxor and Aswan: 26C
