Weak electric current shuts down 10 drinking water stations in New Valley

Ten drinking water stations were shut down in Kharga city, New Valley due to the weak electric current, causing water to be cut to most residential districts and provoking the citizens' wrath.

Sources at the city's municipality council said that none of the stations had malfunctions that would prevent the pumping of the water. The main problem was the weak electrical current which led to the water being cut.

Khedr Ali, head of the electricity sector in New Valley, said the increase in loads on the electric network during rush hour led to a breakdown in the water stations' capacity to pump water. Electric power was later provided to operate the water stations.
