When does Egypt switch back to standard time in 2024?

The Council of Ministers first announced the return of daylight saving time in Egypt during April 28.

The return of daylight saving time in Egypt comes after seven years of its cancellation, and will change back on October 31 – citizens will set their clocks back 60 minutes.

The Council of Ministers revealed in previous statements that the resumption of daylight saving time this year has many benefits for the country by saving energy, especially in light of the global economic conditions and changes.

These benefits include saving an amount of US$25 million, according to a study submitted by the Ministry of Electricity, regarding saving the units of gas used in electricity generation.

Additionally, saving one percent of electricity consumption, which leads to saving an amount of $150 million per year.
