Will Egypt face more heat waves this fall?

The fall season will begin on Saturday, with many Egyptians wondering if the heat waves that plagued the summer will continue into the autumn.

Meteorologists said temperatures may rise slightly by no more than three degrees, but will return to normal quickly as the first half of fall remains closer to summer.

However, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority warned in a statement that there will sharp and rapid fluctuations in the fall as Egypt is exposed to depressions and rainfall, making the weather unstable in some governorates.

 

Saturday’s weather

Hot weather is predicted in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts and northern Upper Egypt.

Very hot weather is expected in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

The weather will be cooler at night in the north of the country, and moderate in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

Temperatures will reach 34C, on Saturday, in Cairo during the daylight hours, while the coastal governorates will record 30C, and southern Upper Egypt will reach 40C.

Meteorologists warned of mists forming in the morning on some roads leading to and from Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, the Suez Canal cities, and central Sinai.
