Will eSIM service in Egypt affect the InstaPay application?

The Head of the Communications Committee in the House of Representatives Ahmed Badawi said that the launch of  eSIM service in Egypt during December has no direct relationship with the “InstaPay” application for money transfers.

During a phone interview with MBC Masr channel on Tuesday, Badawi explained that InstaPay is affiliated with the Central Bank of Egypt, and noted the CBE’s cooperation with the Ministry of Communications.

He added that the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority will announce the details of the operation of eSIM service in Egypt within days.

Badawi pointed out that InstaPay app has been updated regarding transfers between different bank accounts, to ensure that no wrong transfers occur.

He explained that through the new update, the customer to whom the money is transferred can share and send the QR code or Payment Link to the party transferring the money.
