Ali Al-Bukhaiti, a former member of the Houthi Political Office and the spokesperson for the group during the National Dialogue Conference, warned President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi from taking part in the Saudi-led attacks against Houthis in Yemen.
Bukhaiti pointed out that Egypt participates in the attack in return for the aid it receives from the Gulf states. He added Egypt could rather stand by Gulf countries side through media campaigns.
Bukhaiti considered the military operation against Houthis an interference in the Yemeni internal affairs and an aggression against Yemenis, he said on his Facebook account Thursday.
Bukhaiti threatened to block the passage of ships through Bab el-Mandab strait to force the international community stop the Hazm Storm operation in Yemen.
A Saudi-led coalition launched a military operation Thursday morning against Shia Houthis in Yemen upon an appeal from the Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, according to Saudi Arabia's declaration.
