The Israeli Ministry of Health reported on Friday that 140 individuals were transported to hospitals over the last 24 hours due to injuries sustained during Iranian missile strikes.
According to official data, a total of 1,619 people have been hospitalized since the outbreak of hostilities on February 28.
As of Friday morning, 87 patients remain under medical care for various degrees of injury.
The Ministry noted that while many injuries resulted from direct shrapnel and structural collapses, a significant portion of the hospitalizations involved anxiety-related trauma and injuries sustained while rushing to fortified shelters.
The air war of March 2026
The current surge in casualties is the result of a massive shift in Iranian military doctrine following the death of the Supreme Leader on February 28.
Saturation strikes
The current “True Promise 4” campaign utilizes high-frequency, smaller salvos (now in their 21st wave) designed to overwhelm Israel’s multi-layered defense systems (Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow).
The “Khyber” Factor
Iran has deployed the Khyber-class ballistic missile, which features a high-velocity terminal phase, making interception more difficult in densely populated areas like central Tel Aviv and Givatayim.
Economic & psychological impact
Beyond physical damage, the constant state of “Red Alert” sirens has paralyzed the Israeli economy, with the Ministry of Health noting a record-breaking surge in psychological shock cases that are stretching hospital resources thin.
