25 Azhar students sentenced to 15 days in prison

Nasr City prosecution sentenced 25 Al-Azhar University students for 15 days in prison pending investigation on Sunday, and released another student with a LE 2,000 bail, on charges of rioting in Abbas al-Aqqad street, attacking security forces and demonstrating without a permit.

The defendants also face charges of being members of a terrorist group, following the last week's government decision to label the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.

The defendants denied the charges and said that they were arrested randomly.

Nasr City prosecution also detained 13 other students pending national security investigations to find out whether they were involved in the Al-Azhar University protests.
