Egypt’s Minister of Antiquities Khaled Anani said that the number of archaeological missions in Egypt increased to 250 from 25 countries. There are 80 Egyptian missions including 40 university missions and 40 missions from the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA).
During the opening of the Fourth Annual Meeting of archaeological missions in Egypt, Anani said that the missions would present 23 papers showing results of their works and experiences in archaeological work in Egypt.
General Director of the Archaeological Registration Center Hesham al-Leithy said that the archaeological missions circulated posters and showed research presentations on the results of their works in cooperation with the ministry, missions and foreign institutions.
The Antiquities Ministry organized 30 missions to various governorates during the years 2017 and 2018, making a very positive impact on the tourism movement and facilitating several discoveries.
