Twenty-eight Egyptians arrived in Cairo on Wednesday after being deported by Saudi Arabia for violating residency laws.
The Egyptian Consulate in Jeddah issued travel permits for 27 of the deportees after they lost their passports.
One of them had assumed a false identity and was referred to prosecution.
Investigations have revealed that the deportees had issues with their Saudi sponsors, who reported them to Saudi authorities.
