Five people were fatally electrocuted and one child was injured, when an electric wire fell from a lighting pole in a water canal in Dairout, Assiut governorate.
Brigadier General, Alaa Abdel Gaber, mayor of Dairout City, received the first report stating that, an electric wire fell from a lighting pole in Amshul water canal and had killed one person.
Four others tried to save the man. The rescuers all died instantly and a child was injured in the process.
The bodies of the deceased and the injured child were transferred to Dairout Central Hospital after cutting power in the area of the incident.
Legal measure have been taken regarding the incident.
