9 MBs released

Nine members of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) opposition movement were released by authorities Wednesday after completing jail sentences handed down by a military court in 2008.

According to MB lawyer Abdel Moneim Abdel Maqsoud, four more group members will be released next month, including Essam Hashish, member of the group’s authoritative Guidance Bureau.

Meanwhile, a Cairo Criminal Court ordered the release of ten other MB members recently arrested in the Delta province of Beheira, including Mohamed Sweidan, head of the group’s Beheira branch. The court rejected an appeal by the Interior Ministry to keep the ten men in custody.
