Security forces arrested three supporters of toppled President Mohamed Morsy after they were detained in an apartment in Cairo's up-scale Mohandiseen neighbourhood.
According to residents, the three pro-Morsy protesters were carrying bladed weapons, sticks and firearms.
Quarrels broke out between supporters of Morsy on the one hand and motorists and shopkeepers as a pro-Morsy march passed through Mohandiseen en route to al-Nahda Square, causing congestion and tensions.
