A Criminal Court in Milan has sentenced the Dominican citizen charged with killing an Egyptian immigrant in Italy to16 years in prison, and his accomplice to seven years, said an Egyptian diplomat on Saturday.
Ahmed Mamdouh Abdel Aziz, an Egyptian from Sharqiya, was killed on 13 February at the hands of Dominican nationals during a fight on a public bus in Milan.
Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Mohamed Abdel Hakam said that the court has referred the request by the victim’s family for compensation to the civil court concerned.
He also said that a Milan court will try on 16 December the case that was brought against 11 Egyptian immigrants who were involved in rioting following the murder of Abdel Aziz.
