Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou has predicted tourism revenues will drop by the end of 2013 despite "efforts being exerted by the government and the private sector."
Zaazou did suggest that, while challenges remain, tourism in Egypt should see a rebound in February next year.
Speaking to Al-Masry Al-Youm, Zaazou attributed his predictions to the political situation in Egypt which had led to imposing a state of emergency, and curfew which, he said, had hampered hopes for an increase in tourism.
Egypt lift the state of emergency on 14 November after three months in force.
Any future violence would certainly affect tourism in the future, Zaazou admitted.
