Hundreds of Brotherhood students marched to Tahrir Square on Sunday afternoon in the complete absence of security forces. They prayed in the square and chanted slogans against the military. They also protested the killing of a fellow student.
Meanwhile, dozens of Brotherhood students from the University of Beni Suef staged protests on campus, requesting the release of fellow students and professors and demanding the army and police stop breaking into universities.
The students clashed with others supporting the army and the police.
The student union said there are 11 students and professors currently being detained, including Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie, Hamdi Zahran of the Faculty of Science, and Mohamed Ragab, vice dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
