President Adly Mansour on Wednesday met with a delegation from the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) in a meeting that lasted four hours, according to NCHR spokesperson Ihab Badawi.
“The the delegation stressed the importance of the role played by the police in protecting citizens and fighting terrorism,” he said.
He added that the meeting also addressed certain complaints about violations in prison and during arrest, lengthy pretrial detention periods, poor conditions inside prisons, and weakly-equipped prison hospitals.
“The meeting also discussed the protests law and the law regulating the work of foreign correspondents in Egypt,” he said.
