Cairo Governor Mostafa Galal al-Saeed said on Tuesday that the governorate is working hard to finish a large garage project in Tahrir Square by the end of the month.
"Once the garage is open, vehicles will not be allowed to park in prohibited areas on the streets surrounding Tahrir Square," the governor said. "The garage can take up to 1,700 cars and 25 buses."
The measure will go hand in hand with other development projects in Tahrir Square, including repainting buildings overlooking it.
