Director Amir Ramses has declared that the filming of his newest work, Cairo Local Time, has come to an end, adding that the latest scenes had been filmed in Cairo.
The movie stars Nour al-Sherif, Samir Sabry, Mervat Amin, Kenda Alloush and Sherif Ramzy.
Ramses said he will conduct an immediate editing of the scenes he was done with since the movie is scheduled for screening mid 2015.
Cairo Local Time is a social comedy telling the story of the interwound relationships among six characters who encounter each other in one day that is critical to their lives and the way they behold them.
In an interview with Al-Masry Al-Youm last month, Ramses said he prefered to cram the events to occur in one day so as to sum up his the ideas which he seeks to deliver smoothly.
Ramses added that his work was influenced by American director Woody Allen, whom he described as a “genius”. He stressed that Cairo Local Time is not entirely a comedy, and that at some parts of it, he resorted to evoking human feelings.
Asked whether the movie contains any political messages, Ramses explained that he liked the idea of highlighting social oppression and constraints on humans in their daily lives. He said that the political context might appear “unintentionally” since the film tackles society in general.
Amir told Al-Masry Al-Youm that censorship authorities did not have any reservation on the movie and rather lauded the script.
