President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will embark on an official visit on Sunday to Saudi Arabia during which he will meet with King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

During the visit, President Sisi is also scheduled to meet Saudi Crown Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.

The meetings would take up means to boost relations and the latest developments in the region, the spokesman said.

The talks would cover measures adopted by the two states to maintain security of the Red Sea and reach a solution to the Yemeni crisis, the spokesman added.

The Egyptian president pays special attention to coordinating efforts with Riyadh in fighting terrorism and extremism, Youssef said, adding that the two leaders would discuss the agenda of an upcoming Arab summit.

Sisi appreciates historic stances adopted by the Saudi king in supporting Egyptian army.

In 1973, the Saudi King chaired a public committee for supporting the military effort in Egypt in the wake of the war between Egypt and Israel, the spokesman said.

Also, he chaired an executive association for gathering donations for people afflicted by Egypt's earthquake in 1992.
