President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with German Minister of Economy and Energy Peter Altmaier on Sunday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations in the economic field.
The President’s Spokesman Bassam Radi said that Sisi welcomed Altmaier, the delegation of German parliamentarians and senior German company officials and praised the strong relations between Egypt and Germany in all fields.
Sisi also hailed the upcoming fith session of the Egyptian-German economic committee on February 5 in Egypt, aiming to enhance cooperation in industry, commerce, investment, energy, transportation, infrastructure, tourism and higher education.
Sisi invited the German companies to increase investments and benefit from Egypt’s good infrastructure and the skillful labor.
Investment Minister Sahar Nasr and Germany’s Minister of Economic Cooperation Gerd Muller previously signed an economic cooperation protocol worth 129 million euros, during Nasr’s visit to Berlin in November.
Spanning four years, the protocol includes the implementation of projects in the field of energy at 43 million euros, the water sector at 39 million euros, economic development at 45 million euros, and a grant worth two million euros for youth projects.
