The Egyptian ambassador to France Alaa Youssef, published new photos on his personal Facebook account showing the installation of the golden top of the Egyptian obelisk in the Place de la Concorde.
“It is a new honor to represent my country on a historic day to install the golden pyramid top at the top of the Egyptian obelisk in Place de la Concorde (at a height of 23 meters) after the restoration work that I witnessed over the past months,” Youssef wrote.
The Egyptian obelisk in the Place de la Concorde weighs two hundred and fifty tons and was transferred in the nineteenth century from Egypt to France.
