Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the current developments of the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip.
The talks tackled needed moves within the Arab Group and multilateral action to end this crisis.
The meeting took place on the fringe of their participation of the G20 foreign ministers meetings in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid held the international players responsible at humanitarian and legal levels to halt the war in the Gaza Strip and realize an immediate ceasefire.
He condemned repeated failure of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to issue a ceasefire resolution over the US’ veto.
The two sides tackled the the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, underlining the importance of full access of humanitarian and relief aid to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinians.
They stressed full rejection of any Israeli military operation in Rafah and attempts to displace the Palestinians.
The two ministers reviewed spiraling tension in the region on the back of the conditions in Gaza, including threats of navigation security in the Red Sea.
The ministers underlined continued communications with various parties to support efforts to realize truce and prevent expansion of the conflict in the region in order to protect regional and international peace and security.
They agreed on continued coordination in the coming period to settle the crisis in the Gaza Strip.
