Egypt, Bolivia mull boosting economic cooperation

Egypt’s Ambassador in La Paz Hatem Al Nashar met Friday 9/8/2024 with Huascar Ajata, Bolivia’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs and Foreign Trade to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in economic, commercial, and investment sectors.

During the meeting, Nashar highlighted Egypt’s efforts to implement economic and structural reforms aimed at various goals, including human development, social protection, health, youth and women empowerment, and building a competitive economy attractive to investments by creating a conducive business environment and supporting macroeconomic stability.

He also emphasized the importance of enhancing economic and commercial cooperation with Bolivia and promoting foreign direct investment.

Nashar outlined the policies adopted to manage the impacts of global crises and enhance public-private partnerships, emphasizing Egypt’s investment environment and competitive advantages.

Ajata acknowledged the significance of advancing relations between the two countries, noting that Egypt is the only African country with a Bolivian embassy.

He expressed Bolivia’s interest in continuing cooperation in agriculture, energy, environment, and tourism, and leveraging Egypt’s expertise in key sectors such as road construction, construction, petroleum exploration, and gas field development.

Both sides proposed initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and providing investment opportunities in Egypt, agreeing to continue coordination and consultation for timely implementation.
