Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stressed that developments over the past decades have led the region to a “historical crossroads” that must require caution and deliberation before making any decision.
His statements came during a meeting he held on Monday with students from the Egyptian Military Academy as part of preparations to graduate new batches of its students for the year 2024.
The Egyptian president stressed that “Egyptian policy is based on balance, moderation and positivity to end crises and not escalate them, in fear of slipping into real dangers that threaten regional security as a whole.”
Sisi explained that “protecting national security is an ongoing, tireless process.
“The cohesion and unity of the Egyptian people are the basis of support and strategic protection for the Egyptian state, and the main guarantor of maintaining the security and stability of the homeland.”
The countries of the region have their own interests that should not conflict with each other,” he added, and noted the importance of holding strategic dialogue with the aim of development.
Sisi stressed that Egypt has been working on a reform path over the past ten years, in order to prepare generations capable of bearing responsibility in all sectors.
He pointed out that the past ten years have demonstrated the awareness of the Egyptian people for the difficult circumstances that the region is going through, with its citizens having served as the bulwark against attempts to destabilize and undermine constitutional institutions.
Sisi also noted the importance of studying computer science and information technology to help build distinguished Egyptian cadres in these vital fields, in addition to opening new, unconventional and more profitable fields of work for Egypt’s youth.
