Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al Mashat said on Sunday 24/11/2024 the Egyptian state made great strides in the past ten years in terms of economic reforms to achieve sustainable development.
Addressing the inaugural session of the fifth Arab Week for Sustainable development themed “sustainable development for a better future” at the Arab League Headquarters in Cairo, the minister said the Egyptian government works to continue the implementation of mega projects to support the state efforts to achieve sustainable development.
The event is attended by Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit and United Nations Resident Coordinator in Egypt Elena Banova, among others.
She added the regrettable developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon negatively affected efforts exerted by Arab countries to achieve development process.
Mashat pointed out to reports that the Arab region needs 250 billion dollars annually to bridge the financing gap and achieve sustainable development.
