Missing tourists found alive after boat capsizes in Marsa Alam

The Red Sea authorities have reported that all tourists missing after a boat capsized in Marsa Alam have been found alive.

The survivors were located in the Wadi El Gemal area. Search and rescue operations continue for any remaining individuals using a search and rescue aircraft.

The rescued individuals have been secured until a frigate arrives to transport them.

Following reports of a capsized “Sea Story” tourist boat, Red Sea Governor Major General Amr Hanfi immediately ordered the highest level of preparedness and coordination with all relevant authorities.

A statement from the Red Sea Governorate confirmed that the control center received an emergency call at 5:30 AM from the boat, which was on a diving trip from Port Ghalib Marina in Marsa Alam, scheduled to return to Hurghada Marina on November 29.

The boat was carrying 31 tourists of various nationalities with a crew of 14. Initial reports indicate that the boat capsized near Satayah Reef north of Marsa Alam.

The control center immediately notified the naval base and the naval search and rescue center, and search and rescue teams began operations using a helicopter and a naval frigate, the Fateh, which departed from Berenice port towards the distress location.

While search operations are ongoing, the official number of survivors or missing persons have not yet been announced.

The control center and operations room continue to coordinate and monitor the situation around the clock to ensure that all necessary measures are taken.

The Red Sea Governor has emphasized that the safety of everyone is a top priority and that any updates will be announced as soon as they become available.
