Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday announced that three Pakistanis were killed and another was injured in an attack on a commercial vessel in the Red Sea, according to press statements reported by Reuters.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister condemned the Huthi attack on a non-combatant merchant ship, emphasizing that such attacks endanger innocent lives, constitute a violation of international law, and pose a severe threat to freedom of navigation, maritime security, and the safety of commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
“We are in contact with the relevant Saudi authorities, as well as the internationally recognized Yemeni government, to ascertain further details about the incident and the surrounding circumstances,” Dar stated.
He added: “I have instructed our embassy in Riyadh to coordinate immediately with the relevant authorities and pursue all necessary measures vigorously to recover and repatriate the bodies of the deceased Pakistani nationals, while providing all possible assistance to the injured Pakistani citizen. We are monitoring the situation closely and will remain in tight coordination with the concerned authorities.”
