Egypt braces for peak heat on Tuesday, with Cairo hitting 40°C and the south exceeding 42°C, warns the Meteorological Authority.
The expected weather is hot in most areas, becoming mild to cool at night and in the early morning.
The Meteorological Authority has warned against direct exposure to sunlight during the daytime, especially during peak hours (from 1 PM to 4 PM), and advises drinking cold water throughout the day, wearing cotton clothing, and staying in well-ventilated places.
Regarding Monday’s weather conditions, satellite imagery indicates a continuation of relatively hot weather with a noticeable increase in temperatures due to the influence of a warm air mass.
There are also expected weather phenomena such as morning mist (especially between 4 AM and 8 AM) on agricultural roads and highways near bodies of water in the Delta regions, Greater Cairo, North Sinai, and Lower Egypt, which may reduce horizontal visibility.
The weather may also see moderate to occasionally active winds (at a speed of 20-35 km/h) in western areas such as Matrouh and Siwa, which could be dust-laden in open areas. Northwesterly winds may bring some relief to the atmosphere in coastal regions.
